Jean, when I first read your posting I thought you had looked up the entry on FreeBMD, and was surprised not to find it on Findmypast. After your later messages I realise that you had looked up FreeBMD on Ancestry, where I thought you were just looking for the image.
So my question is, did Ancestry buy the FreeBMD index (compiled by volunteers), and if so, whether or not an entry is correct on Ancestry can be easily checked on the original FreeBMD. - Which I have now done, and the entry doesn't appear. I only hope that they are still carrying on with the project and haven't handed over to Ancestry.

I'll be very interested to see the result of Richard's investigations!
