I stumbled across this post in a search. I am looking for any information/connection to a John R. Kelly listed in the 1881 census as born in Maughold apx 1839, husband to Alice Kelly (maiden name: Kerruish also have seen it as Kerrnish). His son, William J. Kelly, born 1875 came to the United States. I have the documents here in the U.S. putting William as my great great grandfather, and if the census record is correct, that would make John R. Kelly my great great great grandfather. William’s marriage records here list a John R Kelly and Alice Kerruish as his parents as well as confirmed his listed date of birth from the 1881 census. I’m not sure if you are still active in this topic, but I would love any information you may have on John R. Kelly, such as his parents/dates.
