Thanks Pat, that is interesting. As Eleanor was still Kinvig when she travelled she cannot have remarried on the IOM after the death of her husband Herbert killed in the war. From a previous message on the board she had been md 4 years with no children & from your info there is no child mentioned & aged 37 she would have to be quick to get remarried & have a child, although of course, still possible. I wonder if 'housekeeper' meant she was travelling out to USA with a well to do family for whom she worked. The mystery still remains of who these 2 women are in my photo (Nelly Kinvig 1937) & the small boy . It seems as if she & Herbert had no chn together which is sad. Thanks again for your help.
