i have copies of both his marriage certificates and his death certificate.
I believe ann cowley is mentioned on all but as i cannot lay my hands on them at he moment (due to them being packed away in the house move)
I will go searching for them and post up the answer in a few days.
James is james edward in all documents and from memory he is down as a dock labourer.
I must mention that I was sent an email a few years ago by a cowley decendant who had seen my postings.he said that some cowleys had emigrated to dodgeville iowa USA
He mentioned an ann cowley who married a kelly I think on IOM they had a daughter annie who married thomas perkins in the us
He said he contacted me because when this annie perkins passed away they found a hand written reference to someone called robert bruce in her papers!!
He offered no other information i only mention this as it may be a long shot, maybe my anne cowley emigrated.Perhaps she married this kelly and left james edward behind.
