Well, that didn't work! There is no longer a facility to "Reply" to a message posted before the end of Dec.2009. So if someone finds an ancestor through Google, and wants to contact the person who wrote the message on the BB by posting an answer, they can no longer do so. Or if they do a Search before posting a new message to see whether something has been discussed before, they won't be able to add to that thread. If my memory of the Manx board is correct, there were a lot more "Re." old messages than new postings, back to those posted around 2001.

This is probably because the message board has been split into three, and it looks as though they can't transfer new messages to this current one. If this is the case would it be better to have responses on Archives 1 and 2 than not to have them at all - which would mean looking in three places for new messages? The reason we asked for the closure of the FHS BB several years ago was because people forgot which BB they had posted to, and couldn't find their messages, but this would differ in that only answers to pre-2010 messages would be in the two Archives. It would still be a bit confusing, but better than not being able to respond?
What does everyone think about this?
