Dear Mrs Rosa
If your brother agreed to do the mouth swab for the DNA-Y-chromosome test, wouldn't it tell you something about your father's father's family line (which I understand isn't Manx, although I may have misunderstood what I've just read in your old messages)
I thought you needed an unbroken male line for the Y-chromosome test to be valid. The line down from Adam Cain to you (and tell me if I'm wrong) seems to be: Adam b 1670 begat Patrick b 1712, who begat Patrick b 1737, who begat John, who begat Dollin, who begat Nathaniel, who begat your grandmother Nancy.
Can someone tell me if this reasoning is correct ?
Best wishes
Jean C
