Hi Everyone , thanks for your input , just some additional information , William and Jane were married before 1837 , therefore no English certificate , most unlikely name of Jane is Hale , as this is on William's side and goes back to the marriage of Soloman Demeza and Ann Hale in London , 1/9/1734 , amazingly the use of the family name of Hale continued at least as far as William Hale Pickard b 1892 , IOM . I had her name as Killey , but can't find where i got that from , Mary Callow (nee Pickard) and Janette Pickard have the name as Tong . While , because Rachel's second name is Tong it sounds feasible , she was not the first female born .
There is no marriage on the IGI for either possibilty , and thinking Tong was a rare name , was surprised to see how many Jane Tongs there were !!!!!
Which get's me back to the IOM D.C. , somebody mentioned a way of obtaining a Pound Sterling cheque , but not sure of the detail . And can anyone help with what will be on the Certificate ?
Thanks
David
