Annie Shimmin was my Great grandmother she married into the Cubbons Port st Mary.

I was told that her father went to America with some her older brothers I got they went to Leadsville, Calarodo. William the father came back and remarried I think to a woman called Cath born in Maughold. I think I found them in the 1901 census at Foxdale with 2 girls aged 3 and 1 Blanch Maud, Emily E shimmin plus 4 step daughters aged between 18-11 all with the surname Looney. Hope this helps but it sounds like the same family.
