Hello Allison,
Did you manage to get into that website I gave you? They have added free scans of the 1900 census which are very slow to load (on my computer) but I've now had a look at the family whose summary I sent you.
State California, County Orange, Santa Ana Township, Delhi (or Dalhi) Precinct. 16th June 1900.
274/
BOYD Robert, Hd, birth July 1854, 45, married 17 years, farmer, place of birth IoM, place of birth of father IoM, place of birth of mother IoM. His property was Owned/ Mortgaged/ a farm/ no.151. There are also other details I haven't included, e.g. race, speaks/writes English, etc.
Elizabeth, wife, birth June 1864, 35, marr. 17 years, mother of 4 children all living, b.California, father b.Kentucky, mother b.Missouri.
Harry, son, birth Nov.1885, 14, b.California, father b. IoM, mother b. California (same birth place and parents' birth places for all 4 children. Only the eldest two were At School).
William, son, birth Feb.1888, 12, (birth places as above).
John, son, birth Nov.1891, 8, (as above).
Nellie, dau, birth Oct.1893, 6, (as above).
Don (or Dan), brother, birth Dec.1866, 33, Divorced, farm laborer, b.California, father b.IoM, mother b.IoM.
Clarence? nephew, birth Jan.1888, 12, birth California, father b.California, mother b.California.
So Robert & Elizabeth married in 1882/83, and Robert presumably was in California with their parents by the time of his brother's birth in 1866 - so arrived between 1854 and 1866. If he left soon after his birth he wouldn't be in any IoM censuses.
I couldn't find him in the 1880 US census.
We still don't know whether or not these are your ones, until you can find some of those details tracking back from your parent? (My last message.)
