if that was him then Robert Caesar Boyd was possibly s/o John Boyd (stone mason - church st Ramsey 1851) + jane Cretney - bapt 5 MAR 1854 Ramsey - would appear to be only Robert Boyd of correct age in 1861 - the Philip Boyd of the MI was age 29 in 1881 census - drapers asst 29 Duke St Douglas and was probably s/o Philip Boyde (shoemaker Ballacurne ballaugh in 1851) + cath corlet bapt ballaugh 12 OCT 1851 with a similar dated baptism to Philip + cath (no family name) in Onchan (in 1881 described as born onchan but so were all in that shop) - both igi records were extracted from reg (dual parish reg is unusual at this period but he was the only philip of the correct age in 1881
