Hi Sue,
It is nice to hear from you. I am glad you had a nice holiday on the Island.I am sure it is absolutely beautiful!
I did see the 1881 census and saw that Selina was living back home.I just wanted to be sure that I wasn't assuming incorrectly that Selina Comish was Selina Camaish. It makes sense to me,though. My question, though is,Walter Henry Comish (my Great Grandfather)seems to be born out of wedlock,as he was born in 1885, and from the information you had, Selina was separated from her husband in 1881.Do you know any more about that,by any chance?I am curious as to whom the father of Walter Henry is.
On a slightly different note,my grandmother said he had a half brother,Thomas Callister, that Walter immigrated to the U.S. with.I did find out they didn't immigrate together.Walter came over first.I did find information on Thomas Callister at ancestry of his immigration.Walter is listed as a friend to Thomas, not a relative, however, they apparently knew each other on the Island.I do have a photo of the 2 of them I can try to scan and sent it to you if you'd like.
This is very interesting and exciting.
Thank you for your help and response and I hope to hear from you soon.
Have a great day!
Helen
