James Wilton Ashe is on the same marriages page as Ellen Jane Thomas in the March 1878 quarter in Lambeth Vol 1d page 367.
I cannot locate the family in the 1891 or 1901 census.
James born c. 1829 in Cornwall does not appear in the English census 1851-1871.
The 1841 census goes online this year, so he maybe there.
