Mary Jane Ashe married in 1867 aged 17 in Birkenhead and her father and sister Sarah Adah Ashe were present. I thought the family must have moved back then.
I don't know where James was from in England. I thought he must have been from Cornwall just from researching the mining industry on the net.
I did find a James W Ashe on the 1881 census Mining engineer in London, Middlesex but he is 50 when my James would be 52. He would have remarried. In 1881 Mary Jane was also in Middlesex. My grandfather Walter was born in May 1881 there.
