This little book is in possession of the Leece Museum, East Quay, Peel, the transcription was given me by Mrs Young.
The date on the Notebook, which appears to be an aide-memoir for the collector is 1871 - however the two years 1856 and 1858 are noted as being paid and some entries in the notebook might well apply to an earlier year (? c.1854) - eg mention made of Thomas Quine who was schoolmaster of Clothworkers School from 1830-c.1843. Nathaniel Pickels died in 1849 (and is buried in small plot at Atholl Street Methodist Church). F. C. Skrimshire was Agent for Woods and Forests from c.1848-1884. However assuming the format new(old) for some entries then John Quayle(Basil Mylrea) corresponds to a date after 1864 for the White Lion Inn in Bridge Street.
