There is a very similar G.B.Cowen slide in the Knox collection (in Manx Museum) of the same cottage entitled 'The Derry' (it also shows more of the out-building to the rear).

The crosses were later moved into the porch of the church to prevent further damage

The tracks of the Upper Douglas Cable car can be seen, thus dating photograph post 1896. Rosemount Methodist Church, on the left, has still to receive its spire.

The open-air services at Kirk Braddan were started in 1856 and became a feature of the holiday season - many complaints were raised about the damage so many vistors were doing to the graveyard that the services were moved to an adjacent field.
