Born Dundee, began preaching 1771, at Aberdeen; in 1772
admitted 'on trial', stationed at Aberdeen but worked along Moray
coast. In 1774 sent to Ireland; returned to Glasgow 1777 and sent
in 1778 to Isle of Man. Married widow Margaret Stephenson (nee
Kayll) 23 July
1779. By 1784 back in Glasgow and again sent to N.E.
Scotland.
