THE King, to all, etc., greeting. Know that with the consent of the prelates, earls, barons, and other nobles, being with us, we have remitted and released, and entirely for us and for our heirs quitted claim, to our beloved and faithful William de Monte Acuto, all our right and claim which we have had, or in any manner can have, to the Island of Man, with its appurtenances whatsoever. So that neither we nor our heirs, or any other in our name, shall be able, from this time forth, to exact or sell any right or claim in the Island aforesaid. In testimony, etc. Witness the King at Topclif, the 9th day of August. By the King himself.
