UPON THE CUSTODY OF THE ISLAND OF MAN. A.D, 1334.

 

 

 

THE King, to all to whom, etc., greeting. Know that we have committed to our beloved and faithful William de Montacute, the custody of the Island of Man, with appurtenances, to hold until the feast of St. Michael next ensuing, and from the said feast for one year next ensuing, rendering thence to its yearly, at our exchequer, the extent thence made, or to be made. In testimony, etc.

Witness the King at Twedemouth, the 8th day of June.

REX, omnibus ad quos, etc., salutem. Sciatis quod commisimus dilecto et fideli nostro Willielnno de Monte Acuto, custodiam Insulae de Man, cum pertinentiis, habendam usque ad festum Sancti Michaelis, proximo futurum, et ab eodem festo, per unum annum proximum sequentem, reddendo inde nobis per annum, ad scaccarium nostrum, extentam inde factam, vel faciendam. In cujus, etc.
