The mill is fed from from the tail race leaving Mywyllin-y-Chorrin - its tail race falls into the Glass running N-S lower lh corner which now forms the boundary between Braddan and Onchan. It was the damming of this tail race and the susequent flooding of the curraugh above it that resulted in the 1771 Abbey Great Enquest to report. |

In 1771 there was a dispute between the owner of Corran's mill (a certain Robert Lewin) and the then owners of Ballacreetch mill Capt Paul Bridson, John Taubman mortgagee and Robt Lewn & mother - John Taubman would appear to be included as he held a significant mortgage on Robt Lewin's land. The depostions of witnesseses in the 1771 Abbey Great Enquest indicate that the Ballacreetch mill had been rebuilt on a different site some 20 years prior - my suggestion is that Paul Bridson having bought in 1737 a half share in Ballacreetch mill decided to rebuild the mill on the land he purchased in 1742 and by 1748 was in a position to obtain the licence to committ tenants to use this new mill.
