This small book (approximately A6 size) was published very shortly post WW2 and may well be the first such publication devoted solely to footpaths in the Island, though earlier guidebooks had included sections on possible walks. Its price, 2s 6d, and its publication date probably explain the lack of any maps and, by modern standards, quite poor illustrations scattered somewhat haphazardly through the text; however it does give a glimpse of the immediate post-war situation when the Island was beginning to regain its mass tourism until cheap package tours in the 1960s signalled the end of this industry.

The author's knowledge of Manx history maybe charitably described as 'lacking'.
