This John was bp 15 Jul 1792 at Arbory, eldest of 13 children of Thomas Gelling and Catharine Cubbon, md 7 Jan 1792 Malew. Thomas died in 1835 and his will is transcribed. Catharine died 1854 and her will is also transcribed. I haven't placed Thomas Gelling yet, though his age of 75 at burial puts it at about 1760. There is a baptism of a Thomas G, son of Nicholas Gelling and Christian Crow at Malew in 1760 but little else that points to them.

The John G who died 1862 married Margaret Humphreys 14 Apr 1825 Arbory; 7 children. I have mostly figured out the children.
