Hi, this post is going back a bit, but the following may help re this memorial.

In loving memory of ROBERT PRESTON of Ballasalla who entered into rest 30th April 1879 aged 75 years
also CATHARINE his wife who entered into rest 4rd November 1879 aged 66 years
also CATHARINE daughter of the above-named who entered into rest 8th July 1869 aged 12 years
also JOHN PRESTON COWLEY only son of JOHN C. and MARGARET COWLEY nee PRESTON of Onchan who gave his life for his country 11th March 1917 aged 18 years Mizpah
also MARGARET wife of JOHN C COWLEY and youngest daughter of ROBERT and CATHARINE PRESTON died 14th Jan 1952 in her 94th year

This couple had the following children (per the Familt bible

George born 29-Dec 1848, died 8-4-1910
John born 28 Dec 1849 died 11 July 1901
Jane Elizabeth born 1 Dec 1850 - unknown
Robert born 23 Oct 1851 died 5 Sept 1854
Joseph born 11 Oct 1852 died 2 Sept 1854
Emily born 14 Dec 1853 unknown
Catherine born 9 Sep 1856 died 8 July 1869
Margaret born 20 Feb 1858, died 14 Jan 1952.

Of this group, Geo Preston became a builder, and married Annie Moore at Bradan 30 Dec 1869. He died on 8 April 1910

John also worked as a builder
Jane Eliz & Emily I do not know about them
Robert, Joseph and Catherine all died young.
Margaret married John C Cowley and lived to the age of 94. She had one son Killed in action in WW1 and one daughter who never married.
