Yes the information regarding John Henry Preston's death is correct.The information was supposedly given by his son. However, it conflicts with the information on his Marriage Certificate.
Throughout everything he sticks to the fact his father was an officer in the British Army.On his Marriage Certificate he says he was born in Madras,India.
Then on his children's birth Certificates he says he was born in Douglas and his father was a British Army Officer.
Up to his death in a mining accident in 1906 he maintains this line.
