I meant which parish did your ancestors live in, in the 1700s and 1800s, and what were their names and dates?

I researched this family quite thoroughly in Maughold with Brian Lawson, because we both had Creech connections there. It was the first name he chose to research in depth, partly because it was reasonably small in numbers, but also because it was interesting - and extinct in the IOM by the mid 1900s (apart from the place name Ballacreetch in Braddan). I believe it was pronounced Cretch, which would explain why the spelling of your name changed.
