Jane Kaighin, 1798 (Jurby)

In the name of God , Amen the 31 day of May 1797, The last will and testament of Jane Kaighin (widow) who being sick and feeble in body but by the blessing of God of sound mind and memory at the making hereof.
First, she committed her soul to God and her body to the earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial. Also she left and bequeathed to her SON JOHN the sum of one guinea. Also, she left and bequeathed to her DAUGHTER JANE WIFE OF WILLIAM RADCLIFFE the sum of one guinea. Also she left and bequeathed to her GRANDDAUGHTER JANE SAYLE the sum of one guinea. Also she left and bequeathed to her GRANDDAUGHTER ELLINOR DAUGHTER OF THOMAS KAIGHIN the best cloak she had. Also she left and bequeathed to her DAUGHTER JANE RADCLIFFE aforesaid all the rest of her shaped apparel woolen and linen. Lastly, she left and bequeathed to her SON THOMAS KAIGHIN all the rest of her goods chattels and effects of whatsoever nature and denomination whom she also nominated constituted and assigned sole Executer of this her last will and testament the day and year first above written. Proclaimed pronounced and declared by the Testatrix as her last will and testament in presence of us the witnesses: Thomas Corlett my mark x. Robert Christian, jurati.

At a chapter court holden at KK Michael June 19th. 1798:
The Executor is sworn in court in form of law and hath given pledges for the payments of debts and legacies namely the witnesses of the will. Probatum est, Tho Cubbon.

Could this be the will of Ann Radcliffe,s Grandmother.?
I am researching the Garrett,s of Lezayre and Bride and had for a while thought John Garrett and Ann Radcliffe were in our tree but they are not. The newspaper Obituary of Mr John Garrett 1926 (buried at Bride) links us to the Garretts of Ballabrooie, but I have not yet found the connection. Hope this is of some help. Pauline
