Re: Garrett family (Kirk Michael)
In Response To: Re: Volunteer photographer ()

Hello Marya

As you can see, I've changed the subject line as we're no longer discussing volunteer photographs, and there may be other listers interested or have an opinion on the Garrett's from Kirk Michael.

We're talking about the same John Garrett who married Jane Quayle 10.1.1819 Kirk Michael.

John Garrett born abt 1786 Lezayre, buried 15.12.1851 Kirk Michael.
Occupation - stonemason.
Father - John Garrett.
Mother - Anne Radcliffe.

Their children were

1. Jane Garrett born 1822, died 5.11.1913, Station Road, Kirk Michael. Her spouse was John Quayle and they married 11.11.1843 at Kirk Michael.

2. John Garrett (of Ballaleigh) born 1820, died abt 16.3.1895, and his wife's first name was Margaret.

3. William Garrett born 1821, died abt 5.6.1830.

I am quite happy that I have John's parents as John Garrett and Anne Radcliffe.

My connection is through the daughter Jane Garrett who married a John Quayle born 1815 and died 12.1.1879, who was also a stone mason.

As far as Jane's parentage is concerned I am open to debate, as somewhere along the line I found a John Quayle born abt 1755 Kirk Michael, buried abt 25.8.1836 Kirk Michael, with a wife by the name of Mary/Margaret Corlett, and they were married 8.2.1777 in Kirk Michael.

Now, as you and probably a few others on the list know only too well, the Quayles are a very mixed up lot with, I suspect, some early inter-marriage taking place.

If we're lucky, maybe someone can actually confirm who the parents of Jane Quayle is?
