This all seems to fit with Lt. Mylrea. He was a member of the 4th RV Battilion which served in Canada during the war of 1812. The troops were returning to England on the transport carrier , the Harpooner, that ran agound off Newfoundland in 1816. The ages of the children were from 7-18 so, were they born in Canada (possibly Quebec-or Lower Canada as it was known as) or the UK before leaving for Canada?
