Re: SKILLICORN family of RAMSEY

Hi Lois,

It is a pleasure to read your careful analysis of available Lonan records. Anyone who has tried to find family connections in Lonan has run up against the many missing years of parish register entries, the lack of a wife's name at bapt. (when they appear at all), and the same forenames being used for almost all Skillicorn males.

Re ii. Thomas Skillicorn, “son of Philip Skillicorn of Laxey” bp November 11, 1783 (son of Philip Skillicorn and Judith/Joney Killey).

I made a tentative link to "my son Philip Skillicorn of Laxey" from the will written 11 Dec 1745 of Thomas "old" (of Skinscoe) buried 22 Nov.1750, and thought this son could be the Philip who married Mary Garret in 1735. I thought their son James bapt 11 Ap 1750 might be the one buried aged 83 "Scinscoe" 19 June 1831. - Both showing links between Philip of Laxey, and Skinscoe farm.
