This note is to answer the MI's in Donna's note of May 13 5:10PM.
The first one, Richard GELLING d 1807, is one of the sons of John GELLING of Ballamillaghyn and Catharine KILLEY, bp 13 May 1744 Braddan. His wife was the first Jane KELLY md 1770. Their daughter Jane married Robert COTTIER ca 1798 (I don't have the marriage date). Jane died 1828, and Robert then married Elinor CANNON. Robert and Elinor COTTIER are at Ballaclucas Marown in 1841 and 1851, and Robert died in 1852.
Donna, there's a problem with the middle MI #159 because there must be one or two lines in the middle missing.
It was Robert Cottier Sr who died 6 Nov 1852 age 78. His burial is in the IOMFHS burial list (we all know as "Brian's List"). I did a bit of digging and discovered that Catharine COTTIER als CHRISTIAN was the wife of Robert Cottier Jr. She was only 26 in 1841 and I think she's the one buried 14 Feb 1851 age 35. Robert Cottier is in the 1851 census as "Married" with his two children, but she died 6 weeks before, and is not in the census. Robert Cottier married a Frances QUAY in 1854 but she died the next year, so he is widowed in 1861, 1871 and I think died 1878. He also had a son named Robert, but he died age 38 in 1876, before his father.
The last MI for Robert GELLING of Balla-Grawe must be the son of the above Robert Gelling, bp 31 Mar 1779. He'd only be 56, rather than in his 60th year, if all the dates are right. There's no burial entry for him but there is a will entry. I haven't got him figured out yet whether he married and had children. He's on my "to do" list.
