David, what Mary wrote is correct. I was referring to the parish registers which have been filmed by the LDS Church and are able to be ordered to view through any of their Family History Centres. The charge per film varies depending on which country you are in, but is up to about $6. For this amount the film is reserved for you to view at their FHC for about a month. Look under Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the phone book for address and opening times for your closest FHC.
While you are waiting for the film to come in have a look at the permanent collection at your FHC - this is free, and usually has the IGI and Scottish Church records on CD (these omit all those members' entries on the online site, so you are sure of seeing parish register transcripts), Ancestry, censuses on fiche, and numerous other records on CDs, fiche, and film. Have a look at their catalogue (online through FamilySearch.com or at the FHC) and order several films at once if wished. For example, it is often handy to have both the indexes to civil registration certs, plus the film of the certs to use with it, for counties which have allowed these to be filmed for some years (IoM, Scotland) - and much cheaper than buying a certified copy from a registry. And not to forget the brilliant IoM wills on film - see Averil's message.
