Just a thought, in my late familes when children were orphaned by loss of a parents their brothers and sisters used to step in and look after neices and nephews.
So families were not sent to homes and industrial homes, causing distress. The well off families would have at time of death have them interned in their family plots. I can remember this in my childhood in Kirk Braddan and Onchan back in 1940's even.
