I just remembered that I have a book of 32 reproduced black and white post cards published on the 150th anniversary of the IOMSPCo It has a short history of each boat and states that the SP Prince of Wales was requisitioned by the Royal Navy in 1915 and renamed the "Prince Edward". Was used as an anti-submarine vessel and saw action in the Gallipoli compaign. It was broken up in 1920.

The Manx Note book also states it was requisitioned by the Royall Navy.
