Re: RADCLIFFE FAMILY OF ANDREAS

The next generation back of this family is given in the large volume of Radcliffe family history prepared by William Radcliffe of Chester in the 1920's. This handwritten volume and other papers are lodged at the MM library.

After the introductory paragraph the family details are given as a tree rather than a list. Where dates were omitted but space left, I have used an underscore. The extract is as follows:

Alexander was baptized at Kirk andreas 18thOctober 1795. He was a shoemaker bytrade and had a large family. He died in Douglas after which his widow and children emigrated to Cleveland, Ohio, USA. There is no record at Kirk Andreas of the baptism of any of his children after William 1825, and the probability is that he left the parish about this time. The order in which the names of the rest of the children is placed is not known to be the correct order of birth.
