Hello Sue,
I'm the one who came to Canada from England, (1987), so that answers that question.
As far as I know, my line from Alexander and Catherine goes as follows:
My lines starts from Alexander & Catherine's son John, born I of M in 1823.
He became a shipwright and went to Liverpool where he died in 1901. John was
married to Isabella THOMPSON, who was born in Workington, Cumbria about
1822. They married in Liverpool on 08 Oct 1849.
They had two sons, one of which was William Alfred, my Great Grandfather,
who was born in Liverpool on 15 Nov 1851. William married Mary CHRISTIAN,
who was born in Ramsey, I of M, in 1852, but I don't have much on her line, which I would like to pursue. William apparently committed suicide in
Liverpool, on 06 Jan 1913, after a business failure.
John and Isabella's other known child was Charles Alexander, who was born in
1852, born in Liverpool. He died in Liverpool, in 1885.
My Great Grandfather, William Alfred had a second wife named Amanda, (surname unknown), had at least 6 children.
My Grandfather, George Ernest was born
in Liverpool in 1884. He served in WW1 and died in 1942. The other known children are, Kate, born 1880, Sydney, born 1882. William, born 1893, Lily, born 1892 and Fred, born 1900.
Second wife Amanda was born in Staffordshire and was 38 in the 1901 census.
My Grandfather, George Ernest, married Elizabeth BRAND, born in Poplar in 1880. They had two daughters, Elizabeth, born about 1915, and my mother, Eilynn Lilian RADCLIIFE, born in 1922.
That's all I have on my line apart from some odd dates etc.
Any possible links out there???
Best wishes
Phil
