I found the birthdate of Thomas Cleator from the 1851 Census in Liverpool.

It states:-

Thomas Cleator abt 1816 Isle of Man

(Thomas's occupation is listed as a Grocer/Provisions Dealer)

I know they used to "round up/down" birthdates when recording census records, so 1816 may not be exact.

Perhaps he could have been the son of Mary Corlett/Thomas Cleator?

I'm afraid that I don't have much info to go on!
