Re: Quiggin genealogy
In Response To: Re: Quiggin genealogy ()

Doing some quick research on Cpt Thomas Wiggin. This is the first time I have come across someone asking about maybe a spelling change. To my knowledge no one has been able to track Cpt Thomas down in England. The most we know for certain is that he applied for a marriage license to Catherine Whiting July 11, 1633. This is not the actual DOM as is quoted very often. From what I have been able to find out from the Guild Hall in London is if he used the title Captain then he was a sea captain. He also was the first Govenor of the New Hampshire colony in New England. We have not been able to track his first marriage (he is listed as a widower) or if he had any children by his first wife, although no provisions were made in his will for any children other than those by Catherine. I think I will try hunting under Quiggin and see what I find.
