Re: CAIN ANCESTORS
In Response To: Re: CAIN ANCESTORS ()

Well, it certainly sounds like him! I have him as dying at 45 and with a wife, Annie. His father wasWilliam Corrin, ch 15th Feb, 1854. His father, James, was ch. 9th Feb 1817, Malew. Married Catherine Christian, 10th Sep 1843. They had 8 children, whose details I have. James was a Master painter, who had his own business. Charles' mother = Caroline Bickerstaff, born 21st Oct 1955 at Blackrod, nr Wigan. Her father moved to the island, became a teacher and then worked in the registry. His obituary appears in the Manx Notebook.
There were 8 children: Hannah Darnoult Corrin, born 1880; Clara Louisa, born 30th July, 1881 (my grandmother); Charles James named after his grandfather); Frank Darnoult C., born 1885; George William C b. 1887;Henry Bickerstaff C. 1891,(Henry was Charles B's father) - died as an infant; Stanley Bowman C. 1893(middle name is Charles Bickerstaff's mother's); Caroline, born 1897. I know a certain amount about what happened to them.

I only went to the Island for the first time 3 years ago and I met my 2nd cousin who is the daughter of Caroline (Carrie) above.

I'm about to write up all this and much more, including a Cain relative too(!) into a narrative account. Am also in the process of putting all my Manx data into Legacy, so I will be able to send you everything, in a more easily understood form sometime soon, work permitting.
Where do you live? I'm in London. My e-mail address is JASper2611@aol.com, so please contact me directly if you wish. I would love to hear about your side of the family.
Best wishes, Jo
