Sounds like quite the mystery. I show William Corkill and Rebecca Crow as parents of Robert Corkill born January20, 1822. (IGI) Then I find William Corkill and Jane Crow as parents of Robert Corkill christened January 22, 1822. (IGI) Is this Robert Corkill the same child?? Guess I'll have to order the parish records and check them out - for sure!!

Rebecca didn't marry William until four years later and I always found that strange. I did not know that marrying your deceased wife's sister was illegal.

When was Christian Corkill born?? I didn't find her anywhere.
My sister did visit the Isle of Man a few years back and found the gravesites of John Crow Jr., Robert and Frederic. She couldn't find the gravesites of the parents though. We did not know at the time that Maria died there. Jane definitely died January 12, 1826. If you ever find anything on her I would be most interested.

Maria and Peter's daughter, Elizabeth White, married a John Radcliffe, son of Thomas Radcliffe, shoemaker, and Margaret Goldsmith of Ramsey.
