Hi Nigel,
I was actually really glad to see your message because believe it or not you have helped me immensely by posting the date of Maria White's death in your message. Maria and Peter White left the IOM sometime before 1841 and moved to Lancashire but they must have returned sometime after 1851 because she died there and Brian Lawson kindly gave me the 1861 census data this am so thanks for that.
John Crow(e) and Elizabeth Christian married on March 31, 1787, Kirk Christ Lezayre.
They had the following children,
Jane Crow, born February 6, 1788, died January 12, 1826.
John Crow born November 14, 1789, died October 25, 1851.
Edward Crow, born April 25, 1792 (death date unknown)
Robert Crow , born September 30, 1794 (death date February 19, 1817)
Frederic Crow, born November 20, 1796, (death date February 27, 1799)
Charles Crow, born October 5, 1799 (died November 7, 1825)
Rebecca Crow, born June 5, 1802 (death date unknown)
Maria Crow, born April 16, 1808 (death date 1864)
On the family tree is states that Jane Crow died January 12, 1826 aged 38 years. She is also listed as Jane Crow so I was not even sure if she married.
Both Charles and Robert died from drowning, Frederic died as a young child.
I have recently found out from donna Douglas that Rebecca Crow married a William Corkill and had 3 children. William Corkill died and she remarried a William Christian and had more children.
Interesting if this is the same family that Rebecca married her sisters husband. Rebecca married this William Corkill in 1826 in Braddan but had a child by him named Robert Corkill in 1822 in Ramsey.
Anyways, if you feel this is the same family I can e-mail the family tree to you although its kind of hard to read because its so old.
I look forward to hearing from you. I have more information on this family but figured I would just send this information for now and let you try to figure out if your Jane Crow and mine are the same.
DIANE
