Sorry I wasn't able to throw any light on the mystery of Maria Reid's father. Maria was with John and Mary Skeally at Gliack House, Ballaugh in 1841 and 1851, where it states that she is their granddaughter. By 1861 Mary was a widow and lived with just her unmarried daughter Christian Skeally.
The Skeallys were originally from the south of the island. They married in Marown and their first son John was born there. They later moved north to Ballaugh and that is where Mary and John are buried.
I haven't come across another Reid in any of the records I have looked at so goodness knows where Thomas came from. Perhaps he was a sailor?
