Thanks to Frances and Brian for your replies. The Palmers weren't on the Island in 1881 - think they were all still in France and first sighting was the birth of a son in 1885 to Annie Palmer in Peel. Albert Palmer on the 1901 was living with his first wife Elizabeth Christian and their two daughters in Auckland Lane - not sure about Anastasia as her family moved around a lot but weren't on the 1901 but there is a connection to the Alexandra Temperance Hotel on East Quay Ramsey so she may have been staying there on a temporary basis but saying that she gave birth to a son, another Albert Palmer, at the hotel in 1909 and it's funny to read the advert for it in 1902 after new management had taken over after it had been "cleaned and decorated throughout" - "Good accommodation for commercial gentlemen and cyclists - good stabling for horses and visitors will find it a home from home" and all for the cost of 4/6 per day - those were the days eh???? Believe the public toilets have now taken over that part of East Quay?
