Just a thought the 1881 to 1901 census's should show Albert either at an address or on the "Mona or Mona's Isle" if it was in port that night of the census...which would have been in April...as Frances pointed out.
The only time crew or others would live on board ,would be on winter lay up at Barrow in Furnace. My father did work on the Steam-Packet ships on winter lay up in the 1950's and he lived on board until the job was completed.
