Thomas was the son of John Kaighin and Jane Mylchreest of K. German.
Thomas and Elizabeth had seven children, two of which were born before 1815, they were:
Elizabeth, chr. 15 Sep 1811 (later to marry third Mormon president John Taylor)
Jane Lenora, chr. 7 Feb. 1813, died 19 Dec 1833.

Philip Kaighin likely married Margaret Tear prior to 20 Apr 1777. All of their children were chr. in K. German prior to 1784, making all survivors adults by 1814. They had one son, John born 11 July 1779, he married Margaret Cubbon 11 May 1816. So he could have been living with his parents in 1814.
