Re: Burnett Family
In Response To: Re: Burnett Family ()

Great information Andrew

I started this thread because interested parties had obviously not seen my posting of Nov 18 under "Birth & Census hep".

The info posted then remains robust apart from the marriage date of Helen Burnett to William Cantwell should be 1892.

I have established that both James Burnett b1818 & Jack(John J) b1845 were both born in the IOM. Census 1881 IOM and 1891/1901 England censuses.

In the 1901 census Jack still has the family at home at 60 Marsh Lane Liverpool, he is still a Boilermaker. Mona is aged 11 then.

Also in 1901 Helen & William are living at Linacre Road Litherland Liverpool (a stones throw away from Jack Burnetts family). The Cantwells have two sons by then. My father was born 1905.

Now your father must have gone to Helen in 1920(she was a widow by then)when the 3 Cantwell brothers were still at home. Does he remember any of them? Have you any idea of the address in Fazakerley.

Another question now raises its head. When James Burnett Cantwell emigrated in 1928 to Australia did he by any chance go with Gordon Burnett or did Gordon go with Helen when she went.

Finally we believe Jessie died in Wallasey Cheshire on the 8 july 1921
