Re: Naming patterns... specifically Joseph in 1740

And now back to the original thread. I have a Josiah in the Tate family I am researching, called "Jo" in adult life, with other males in the family the more traditional John, William, Walter and Edward, but also a Jeremiah. Both Josiah and Jeremiah are strong Biblical names and I have always conceded that association rather than a "blow-in" pick-up. They had run out of family names in the first four!!!
