My grandfathers 4 brothers (Lockett) went to S.Africa during this period. I know that 1 died in 1910, 1 came back and went to Australia pre-WW1, and presumably the other 2 stayed out there. I have used the National Archives website http://www.national.archives.gov.za with some success, but would appreciate any other suggestions as to how I can find out more.
I also have a photograph of a large group of people surrounding a Manx flag. Was there a Manx Society in S.Africa?
