Thank you for solving a little mystery about a phrase I heard while visiting the island from the US this summer. I was walking on a trail near Maughold Head and said "Good Afternoon" to a fisherman going the opposite direction. He responded with "Oie Vie" and I tried to figure out what it was later.
When looking through a dictionary with the receptionist the Manx Museum, one possiblity was "small" and "outhouse". I'm glad that he wasn't calling me a "little sh_ _"!
