Hi Jim
In an ideal world your album would be owned by a direct descendant of the Craine son/daughter of Dr Robert Edward Craine b 1813 Onchan, surgeon---the son/daughter who wrote “Papa” on the photo which was labelled as having been taken in 1863. I’m assuming that this particular photo shows a middle-aged man. In order to try to establish whether a living descendant exists (of the person who wrote “Papa”), it would help to know a lot more about the other labelled photos. If we can find such a person, then he/she may well want to bid generously when your album goes on ebay. I’m happy to do some research, but first I’d appreciate a list of:
* each labelled photo with a description of the subject (sex, age etc) and details of the studio.
* any other handwriting
If you’re feeling altruistic, scans or mobile phone pics of some or all the pages/photos would be wonderful. Unfortunately, this site only allows you to download images of less than 100kb. It would be simpler to send them to me at my genealogy email address----genejeanie (at) btinternet.com
Kind regards
Jean C
