I have done some pretty extensive research since your last message. I still have questions about John Skelly, but I have been finding some good information on Esther Radcliffe's family. Her parents both died young as well as a sibling. This may explain her life lived as a servant. She had one brother also named James. Her brother's family lived on Queen Street in Castletown for several decades. In the 1851 census I made an important discovery. Brother James Radcliffe is listed on Queen Street. In the next house over, I found the Quine family (Aunt and Uncle) that you pointed me to where young James Skelly is found as a nine year old. It also appears as though Esther may have had another illegitimate child. She is gone without a trace after that like James Skelly Radcliffe. I joined the IOMFHS. Waiting on my password. Hopefully I can find some clues in the death/wills...
