Hi Jacquline, I hope I haven't misled you. I am now unsure if this Alexander is actually mine. Every thing seems to fit except that he arrived in Australia on the ship Port Victor on 8 July 1886. The passenger records do not give any listing for a wife or children but I will need to look again. He married my Great-grandmother Elizabeth in Victoria in 1891 and the marriage certificate lists him as bachelor so needs further investigation.
